A ticket is only useful when it matches the event’s entry rules. Before paying for a concert, festival, exhibition, sports match, or performance in Korea, confirm the seller, attendee name, ticket format, cancellation terms, and venue instructions as one complete package.
Verify the event at its source
Begin with the organizer, venue, artist, festival, cultural institution, or authorized seller. The official page should identify the date, place, admission category, sales channel, and contact. If a social post is your starting point, follow its link to the official domain and compare the details.
Be cautious when an account claims that a sold-out event has unrestricted transferable tickets. Many Korean events use identity checks, fan-club verification, app-based tickets, or purchaser-only collection. A resale ticket can be genuine and still fail at the door.
Account and identity checklist
- Use an email address you can access while traveling.
- Enter your legal name in the format required by the seller.
- Check whether passport, residence card, student ID, or another document is accepted.
- Confirm that fan-club and ticket-account names match when a presale requires both.
- Save the account recovery method and order confirmation.
The Korea Tourism Organization’s event tutorials illustrate the importance of matching names and reservation records for participation. Your event may use a different process, so the individual event notice remains the final rule.
Before payment
Check the total amount, including booking and delivery fees. Confirm the currency and whether the transaction is processed internationally. If a foreign card is accepted, your bank may still block the transaction or require an app confirmation. Prepare an authorized backup card, but do not submit several payments at once.
Read the cancellation schedule before purchase. Refund deductions can change as the event approaches, and some benefits, invitation tickets, discounted categories, or partially used passes may have special restrictions. Save the terms shown at checkout.
Know the delivery method
- Mobile ticket: verify the required app, login, network access, and whether screenshots are accepted.
- Print-at-home: confirm print size, barcode quality, and whether a phone display can substitute.
- Physical delivery: check the supported country, delivery period, and what happens when delivery fails.
- On-site collection: note the desk location, opening time, identification, confirmation, and payment card requirements.
Never post a visible barcode, QR code, order number, or full ticket confirmation on social media.
Check age, seating, and accessibility
Age rules may use international age, birth year, or a specific cutoff date. Children may need their own ticket or an accompanying adult. Standing areas can have numbered entry order rather than a permanent position. Restricted-view seats should be described at purchase.
For wheelchair access, companion seating, sign-language interpretation, or another accommodation, contact the seller or venue before purchase when possible. An ordinary seat may not be convertible at the entrance.
Plan the arrival
Save the Korean venue name, gate, and ticket-desk location. Large venues can have several entrances that are far apart. Separate merchandise, ticket collection, identity verification, security, and entry time in your schedule. “Doors open” is not always the same as the deadline for a numbered standing queue.
Check the return route and final public-transport service. After a major event, the closest station can be crowded, so save an alternative stop and a meeting point away from the gates.

If the event changes or is canceled
Use the same authorized seller and payment channel through which you purchased. Beware of messages requesting a new card payment to “release” a refund. Save the cancellation notice, transaction, and seller correspondence. Travel, accommodation, and event-ticket refunds can follow separate contracts, so review each booking independently.
